Omnia – Amsterdam Publisher was founded by Jan van Leent in 2011 as a non-profit publisher in the field of philosophy, religion and literature with the aim: “To improve and promote discussions and visions on the interfaces between philosophy of life, literature and religion”.
Jan van Leent was born in Heerlen in 1955. During his youth he lived in the middle of South Limburg.
After studying Industrial Design at Delft Technical University, Jan moved to Amsterdam; there he met his wife Marieke. Marieke and Jan have been living in a village near Rotterdam for over 25 years. Just before his retirement, Marieke and Jan moved to Simpelveld, a village between Maastricht in the Netherlands and Aachen in Germany. Before his retirement, Jan had a post as senior public health officer in consumer product safety.
His hobbies are reading, writing, music, walking and photography. Jan reads many books on philosophy, religion and literature.
